  • Date 2021-04-16

On April 8, 2021, the German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) published the report “Frequency of skin sensitization to specific substances and in specific occupational groups”.

Allergic contact sensitisation, causing allergic contact dermatitis, is a health issue in the private as well as in the occupational context. The study gives an overview of sensitizations to specific substances and in specific occupational groups. The analysis is based on the data of the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology (IVDK) from 2007 to 2016, the German Statutory Accident Insurance (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung; DGUV) and the German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit; BA Arbeit) for the years 2013-2015.

The report (in English) can be found on the BAuA website https://www.baua.de/EN/Service/Publications/Report/Gd105.html.
