IFA-Internet portal helps with safe working with carcinogenic substances

  • Date 2022-07-14

Almost 70 percent of all deaths as a result of an occupational disease involve cancer. Many of these are caused by activities involving hazardous substances, especially asbestos, that took place decades ago. But even in the modern working world, many employees still come into contact with carcinogenic hazardous substances every day. The Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IFA) aims to make it easier for workers to handle these substances safely with its new Internet portal for company practice https://www.dguv.de/ifa/praxishilfen/krebsportal (in German), and is thus also making a contribution to the Joint German Occupational Safety and Health Strategy (GDA) https://www.gda-portal.de/EN/GDA/GDA_node.html.
