The background
Chemical substances are often an indispensable part of our everyday life. However, in addition to their many benefits, they can also pose risks. Sustainable and careful handling of chemicals is therefore essential. Substances of very high concern should be substituted where possible. The possible alternatives must be suitable and safe, but at the same time - in line with the sustainability goal of the Green Deal - cost-efficient and resource- and energy-saving and energy-efficient.
As part of the Chemical Evening Discussion, an analysis of the substitution of substances of very high concern (SVHC) and possible consequences for achieving the Green Deal and sustainability goals will be presented and discussed.
The opportunities and challenges of research funding in this area should also be highlighted | Final report (in German): Substitution of SVHC substances
