TURI Safer Choice Partner of the Year Award 2024

The Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) is an independent US government agency aiming to protect workers, communities and the environment from toxic chemicals and pollution by identifying actions companies and communities can take to reduce exposure to chemical hazards. The institute was now awarded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Safer Choice 2024 Partner of the Year (https://www.epa.gov/saferchoice/safer-choice-partner-year-awards) for its efforts to help businesses and end-users adopt safer alternatives to products that contain hazardous substances. Lab Director Jason Marshall and Lab Specialist Alicia McCarthy discuss the unique capabilities of the TURI lab, which enable it to assist product manufacturers obtain EPA’s Safer Choice certification, indicating a high standard of human health and environmental protection. TURI provides vendors with the opportunity to differentiate their products in the market by earning the Safer Choice label, while helping consumers and companies quickly identify and adopt safer products for their specific needs.
